By purchasing your own cable descrambler /cable box you will save on costly monthly equipment rental fees. Universal cable descrambler/cable boxes are not like the ones your cable company gives you, universal cable descramblers/cable boxes work with 98 percent of all cable providers. Currently cable descramblers only work with analog cable, meaning channels 1-125 all channels above 125 are digital! There are NO digital cable descramblers. If you are looking for something digital consider buying a coolsat pro, which is a fta/satellite system that does not require a monthly bill but offers up to 4000 channels and does not take a card like other satellite systems, however there is a card that is available that will allow you to view adult TV 24/7 of all genres, but this card is not necessary to view premium channels like HBO, Showtime, pay-per-views, etc.
